Jennifer and Seneca at Green Valley Ranch

May 31, 2013 | By | No Comments

I never get tired of working with great couples.

I never get tired of shooting at Green Valley Ranch because it is so green, so easy to get around, has such seemingly infinite choices of beautiful locations, and such a professional and supportive staff.

I also never get tired of documenting some of the most important moments in peoples’ lives – I know it sounds smarmy and cliché to say so – but I am honestly and deeply honored with the privilege. Of the many jobs, occupations and careers I’ve held over the years none has come close to giving me the satisfaction that I get from photography, particularly portrait and especially wedding photography.

Who else gets to create things that become dramatically more valuable every single day, to the point of becoming priceless? Mercedes Benz doesn’t. Apple doesn’t. Gucci, YSL, Cartier, Trump, NetJets, Vera Wang and the rest don’t.

But I do.

Thank you God for such an opportunity.

Enjoy these beautiful photos of this truly wonderful couple and family.

Penn Jillette wins $100,000 for Opportunity Village

May 21, 2013 | By | No Comments

By now a lot of people know how Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller made it into the final two of Celebrity Apprentice. And many know that Penn won the ice cream challenge, thereby raising $100,000 for his and my favorite charity – Opportunity Village. It is always my privilege to assist Opportunity Village any way I can. I was so happy to be there for PR Red Carpet photography of the rollout of Penn’s ice cream flavor at the Walgreen’s on the Las Vegas Strip. Kudos to Penn Jillette for helping bring the incredibly successful model of OV to a national audience.Kids love ice cream.Blue Man Group came out to announce Penn Jillette’s ice cream flavor and show support for Opportunity Village. This is roll out day. By Tuesday Walgreen’s shelves were bare of Penn Jillette’s flavor everywhere in Vegas.
Thank you lovely ladies of Jubilee!Teller eating ice cream Vegas-style.

Sofia and Todd – She Found Her Superman – Las Vegas Engagement Photographers

We love couples with a sense of humor, who come to the shoot with a story to tell and supporting props, but especially we love couples who work hard for great photos – ‘cuz great photos are hard work. And fun!

Sometimes we use small video lights to bring attention to the great little moments we’ve elicited from our couples.

Our photography looks different than the average “available light” photography, because we use professional lighting. You should look this good! 🙂

More fun story telling. I really love the hi-key blown-out background while Todd and Sofia are perfectly exposed. It’s nice when your photographer knows how to use his lighting gear! 🙂

We love to use available light when it’s this good! Notice the “short-side lighting” on Todd?Is this an “available light” photo? No. I’ve put a kiss of light on Todd and Sofia to bring this photo to Level Zing! What did I ask Sofia to whisper in Todd’s ear that got them looking so happy? You’ll have to hire me to find out LOL 🙂

Another beautiful moment with just a kiss of off-camera light. Actually, if you really want to know, I’m popping seven lights on to Sofia and Todd. But most couples just wanna look awesome, like this.

Great family photos are so important. We shot these in a very dark foyer – to stay out of the ninety degree heat & wind. We bring ten speedlites and professional light modifiers so dark rooms are no problem!
