Cili Restaurant, Bali Hai Golf Club, Las Vegas Military Wedding of Jessica and Matthew

April 27, 2015 | By | No Comments

Just before shipping out to Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terror, Jessica and Matthew got hitched at the beautiful Bali Hai Golf Club and Cili Restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip, right next to the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign.

As if getting married in such a central, easily accessed location with some of the most beautiful, lush, green landscaping in Las Vegas didn’t already make my job incredibly easy, it turns out that the bride, groom and everyone in their families are great looking, so, like no brainer! This wedding was fun, easy-going, and really just a pleasure to do. Any time I can do my little part to support our men and women in uniform, I am honored to do so, too.

While we can never truly appreciate the sacrifices you make, we offer a genuine 10% discount to any and all United States active military.

Trust Your Photographer

April 27, 2015 | By | No Comments

Sometimes clients can’t see what photographers see.

Trust Your Photographer

Trust Your Photographer

If a location is crazy bizzy, as Lake Las Vegas was during this shoot, if your photographer says “trust me”, you should.

It doesn’t matter if there are both a mud run AND a beer festival going on during your shoot. It doesn’t matter how many people are there. What matters is what the photographer sees, and crops, and waits for. If your photographer says “don’t worry about them, trust me”, you should trust him.

When you trust your photographer, good things happen. For the record, this couple completely trusted us, and we had an amazing session. Thanks Ha & Louie! — at Lake Las Vegas. Sadly we once had clients, in exactly the same circumstances, not trust us, super stressed out at all the people in their chosen location, and the shoot fell apart. If I say “trust me, I’m gonna make beautiful photos here”, I will. Trust me.

DMC Destination Management Company Photography in Las Vegas – the DICE Summit at Hard Rock Cafe

April 23, 2015 | By | No Comments

Are you into video games? Have you ever wondered who coded Tetris? And Pong? Or who wrote MIDDLE EARTH – SHADOW OF MORDOR?

Or do you need First Rate photography documenting your Las Vegas Destination Event?

Please enjoy this very small sample of las vegas event photography of the recent DICE Summit held at the Hard Rock Cafe just off the Las Vegas Strip. Video game legends like Alexey Pajitnov (Tetris) and Michael de Plater (MIDDLE EARTH), and Tom Kalinske (SEGA Genesis) keynoted and participated on panel discussions. I even got to meet and photograph Allan Alcorn, the father of PONG!

Big thanks to my friend and fellow photographer Laura Glines, owner of Black Cherry Photography in Denver, who invited me to help her create quality event photography of this exciting Las Vegas conference.

Palazzo Wynn Venetian Bellagio Elopement Photography – Indira and Wayne

April 21, 2015 | By | No Comments

How do you make Las Vegas hotter than it already is? Meet up with gorgeous Indira and her lucky husband Wayne from hot Cuba via hot Florida – that’s how. These guys met us in their Earth Limo over by the Palazzo / Wynn sky bridge, and we walked down The Strip making pretty. They are as nice as they are beautiful. After playing around making gorgeous at the Venetian we got back in the limo and finished up at Bellagio. We arrived just as the top-of-the-hour fountain show was ending, so we extended for a 1/2 hour, making hot hot up and around Bellagio until the fountains fired back up on the 1/2 hour. 2 hours goes very quickly even if you’re only walking a mile or so on The Strip, because it’s big, it’s wide, it’s busy, it’s pretty, and it’s fun. This kind of Las Vegas Strip Elopement Photography is one of my very favorites, and it is the perfect option for deeply in-love people who are dying to get married without the complexity and detail$ of getting married back home. Fast, fun, beautiful, warm: what’s not to love?

An Intimate Las Vegas Wedding at Green Valley Ranch with Veterans Linda and Eric

April 14, 2015 | By | No Comments

Did you know that Green Valley Ranch has a pretty little wedding chapel on-premises?

These guys met while serving the Global War on Terror in Afghanistan. I can’t tell you what roles they served, but let’s say you probably wouldn’t want to have to keep a secret from them.

Back in the States, they united their families in an intimate wedding ceremony and reception at The Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, one of my all time favorite places for a wedding – big or small.

To talk about your wedding or corporate event at Green Valley Ranch you can call or email either Penny Fussell or Abby John. They’ll take amazingly great care of you.

Candice and Jamal get married in Las Vegas – The Wynn, Mandalay Bay

Candice and Jamal got married at the inside chapel at The Wynn – where outside photographers are not allowed. So we met them before their ceremony, inside their suite, for some informal and formal portraits. Even though we shot both families in the same room we managed to keep Jamal from seeing Candice before the ceremony. Both families were so beautiful and fun, and it didn’t take much for me to get them comfortable in front of the camera.

After their brief ceremony we met them again on the party bus and we stayed with them for the rest of the night. As is almost always the case, most of the photos we take are camera-unaware photojournalistic, where our clients don’t even notice we’re there.

In the review Jamal left us on WeddingWire he said “The only regret I have for that day is not using Steven Joseph for EVERYTHING! Unfortunately, we married at a hotel on the strip that required us to use the hotel photographer for our wedding. When we received the pictures from the wedding (hotel photographer), they were ok. However, when we looked at the post-wedding and reception photos (Steven Joseph), we were blown away!! They were AWESOME!…” [To see the rest of their review go here.]

I sometimes forget how much I love shooting weddings, until I look at these guys photos, from the starting family portraits in their suite at The Wynn, to the rockin’ rip roarin’ party they had at Border Grill at Mandalay Bay.

Sometimes I forget how much I love photographing weddings, especially the party, and then I see photos like this. Whooooot!
