How a couple of normal middle class American families celebrate the 4th of July

July 5, 2017 | By | No Comments

This is how a couple of normal middle class American families celebrate the 4th of July.

We get together with our good friends the McLaughlins most 4th of Julys in their cul de sac. Drink some beerskis. Eat some delectables. Fire off some star spangled boom boom. Watch the kids play a little street basketball. Go splash splash in the pool. Enjoy our uncountable freedoms. And thank God we live in America. Happy Independence Day!

Downtown Las Vegas Wedding Photography – Elopement of Stacey and Greg

October 25, 2015 | By | No Comments

Historic Atomic Liquors (where folks watched atmospheric atom bomb test explosions from the roof of the bar back in the day), classic bright beautiful neon throughout the East Fremont Street area, public art graffiti all over the place that is updated throughout the year with each new music festival and cultural event, friendly welcoming people who LOVE a Vegas Bride, beautiful clients and best friends flying in from Canada and the Florida Panhandle, smiling, laughing, kissing, hugging, skipping. That’s what it’s like on a Las Vegas Wedding Photographers elopement tour of downtown Las Vegas with Steven Joseph Photography. We always have fun. You always look great. And everyone is blown away by your experience and the story we tell through the gorgeous magazine-quality photos documenting your incredibly special moment. I love everything about Las Vegas Elopement photography tours in DTLV downtown Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Event Photography – Monday’s Dark First Year Anniversary

October 6, 2015 | By | No Comments

Do you know about this wonderful Las Vegas charity – Monday’s Dark? We loved doing Las Vegas Event Photography for their First Anniversary show, including coverage of their amazing stage performances, and production of their on-location step and repeat. With so many performers, I’ve never shot a step and repeat with so many camera-ready camera-friendly people.
To learn more about Monday’s Dark, what they do and how you can help them raise money for worthy charities each month, check here.

The Baby Shower of Tammy Grabel – Publisher of Las Vegas Woman Magazine

March 31, 2015 | By | No Comments

So many great people came together for the baby shower of Tammy Grabel and Seth Grabel at the Park Tower at Hughes Center. The event was exquisitely hosted by Patti Hart and Mary Krevosh, and perfectly catered and decorated by Geena Jeffries Mattox with Style Event Design. The food was delicious, the company energized and happy, and, of course, Tammy and Seth were incredibly gracious and grateful, acknowledging every gift personally. There will be lots more details of this beautiful event in the next issue of Las Vegas Woman Magazine, coming this summer. Enjoy!

Las Vegas Event Photography – Opportunity Village – Camelot black tie fundraiser 2014 honoring Penn Jillette

I am privileged any time the folks at my favorite Las Vegas charity – Opportunity Village – ask me to document their annual fundraising event, Camelot. This last week was my 3rd or 4th time in the 5 years we’ve lived in Vegas. I love shooting Las Vegas event photography anyway, but it is even more enjoyable when I am documenting for a truly uplifiting group, an exceptionally well run charity that has positive impact on the daily lives of hundreds of intellectually and developmentally disabled adults who, in another place and time, might be throw away people. I am grateful for the existence of Opportunity Village, and for the uncountable hours of all the staff and volunteers and donors who make it possible.3E2A1271.JPG-Las-Vegas-Event-Photography-Penn-Jillette-STEVEN-JOSEPH-PHOTOGRAPHYPenn and Emily are a little verklempt while watching a video showing their works for Opportunity Village.Las Vegas Event Photography STEVEN JOSEPH PHOTOGRAPHY Penn Jillette honored by Opportunity VillagePenn tearing up a little seeing a video of all the awesome stuff he does for Opportunity Village.4D8A6175.JPG-Las-Vegas-Event-Photography-Penn-Jillette-STEVEN-JOSEPH-PHOTOGRAPHY 3E2A0614.CR2-Las-Vegas-Event-Photography-Penn-Jillette-STEVEN-JOSEPH-PHOTOGRAPHY Las Vegas Event Photographer STEVEN JOSEPH PHOTOGRAPHY Penn Jillette Penn & Teller Opportunity VillagePenn Jillette belting out a punk version of Lou Reed’s “Sweet Jane” – he shook the house.3E2A1053.JPG-Las-Vegas-Event-Photography-Penn-Jillette-STEVEN-JOSEPH-PHOTOGRAPHYBilly Walters always looks like he’s having fun. Las Vegas Photographers Brett & Jizelle PHOTO THIEVES attempt to Silence any who expose their thievery via threat of Defamation lawsuit

April 16, 2014 | By | 2 Comments

I just received a cease & desist letter from an attorney who says that he represents Brett & Jizelle Photography, Brett Baughman, Jizelle Ashley, and The Brett Baughman Companies. I have posted the letter below in full.

The issue at hand is photo theft and copyright infringement. Sadly, it is shockingly common for unscrupulous “fauxtographers” to steal the photos of actual working photographers, and then to try to pass those stolen photos off as their own.

The photography community is very lucky to benefit from the tireless efforts of Corey Doyle Balazowich, an excellent real photographer, who meticulously documents the nefarious work of fauxtographers before they have a chance to take down (and deny) their thievery.

Her website “Stop Stealing Photos” is a “wall of shame [that] is dedicated to photographers that feel that it’s okay to steal others work and post it as their own.” Read More
