Kurt and Zach take over The Neon Boneyard, DTLV and Atomic Liquor

August 29, 2017 | By | No Comments

Theater people are just so shy.

They feel so awkward when in front of a camera, and it really shows, dontchathink? Eyes down. No smiles. Slumping shoulders. Zero emotion.

It’s really tough to photograph folks as timid as are Kurt, Zach and their friends from the theater. One of the most difficult group I’ve ever had to work with. </end sarcasm>

Seriously, does it get any easier than this (photographically speaking)?

And would it that everybody were as obviously grateful and delighted to be married as are Zach and Kurt, wouldn’t the world be a much better place? These guys – and their whole party – are just so full of life and love and exuberance. It was truly a delight and a privilege to spend time with these guys after they’d gotten married in Vegas.

We started out at the world famous Neon Museum for a post-ceremony photo shoot.

We then strutted on down downtown Las Vegas (DTLV) for some graffiti and finally wrapped it up in the storied Atomic Liquors, the hipster bar from where they used to go to the roof to watch the above-ground atomic bomb tests northwest of Vegas.

Big giant congratulations to Kurt and Zach in their new life together. Thank you so much for choosing me to document the afterglow of your #LasVegasWedding at #TheNeonMuseum and #DTLV adn #AtomicLiquors, who are always so friendly and welcoming.

Fabulous fun Canadian couple elope to Las Vegas to get married on the Dry Lake Bed Playa then do a photo shoot at the Neon Museum DTLV and the Atomic Liquors

This fabulous fun Canadian couple eloped to Las Vegas to get married on the Dry Lake Bed Playa. We then did a GREAT photo shoot at the Neon Museum in DTLV and the Atomic Liquors.

These guys came into Vegas smiling and didn’t stop the whole time I was with them. There’s gotta be something in the water or something up there, but Canadians are just the coolest people. We had fun from the minute they pulled up to the dry lake bed in their limo, through the Neon Boneyard and on to DTLV and Atomic Liquors. These guys put in the time and we got great moment after moment. Thanks for letting me document your Vegas elopement guys! You’re gorgeous!

While their houses were being blown around by a hurricane these guys and their families came to Vegas to say forever “I Do”. They were just SO FUN and easy to be with.

Even though their party bus flaked on them, and I kept calling Ryan “Andrew” (I was thinking about the last Cat5 hurricane to rip through Florida – Hurricane Andrew) and their catered hot dogs & hamburgers turned out to be tacos (yum!) they rolled with every punch like the only thing that mattered was how much they love each other and how they couldn’t wait to support each for the rest of their lives.

Great couple! Great day!

Neon Museum Elopement and DTLV Photo Session with Chant’e and Renard

September 2, 2015 | By | No Comments

Oh MAN these guys were a BLAST, and so in love, having so much fun! With clients this relaxed and happy and CAMERA-READY, it doesn’t get any easier to photograph nor more fun than this.

From the moment my two assistants and I met these guys at the Neon Boneyard they were all smiles, all hugs, all fun. And we had so much fun that the time just flew.

Like a lot of guys, Renard wasn’t crazy about spending an hour and a half with an unknown photographer, didn’t think it would be necessary, probably thought it would be boring. But his beautiful bride-to-be Chant’e saw something in my photography that made her have to have it. So Renard went along. But by the end (we went a little over, just ‘cuz we were making so much pretty and having so much fun) we all wondered where the time had gone. I coulda shot for a couple more hours.
