Wedding Cinema vs Your Cousin Jimmy

June 19, 2012 | By | No Comments

I want all of my clients to understand the enormous difference between professional wedding cinematography and a home video made by a talented relative or friend.

Wedding videography has evolved dramatically in the last 10 years to the point where the better work now more resembles a high-quality Hollywood film – with tight editing and gorgeous lighting and moving storytelling – than the static, blurry, shaky, amateur work of old.

If you’re considering letting your Uncle Bob or good friend make the video for your wedding, I hope you’ll first take a look at the samples below.

The first video – labeled “Uncle Bob” – is borrowed from YouTube, and is representative of what you’ll get from a non-professional.

The film clips below Uncle Bob’s – labeled “Lighten Films” – represent the kind of excellence you can expect from a modern, full-time wedding cinematographer, like Terrence Lighten of Lighten Films here in Las Vegas.

Making your Elopement Marvelous!

May 9, 2012 | By | No Comments

Las Vegas is famous for Elopements. If you are looking for something more than just the same old chapel pictures,  you’re at the right place!  Why not get the portraits you want around Las Vegas?  We’d love to take beautiful portraits after your wedding ceremony.  Some of the places couples like are old Las Vegas (Freemont Street), anywhere around the strip, the Neon Boneyard (where old Las Vegas Signs go to be revered in their retirement), or other locations away from the strip that are as unique as Las Vegas, such as the ghost town in Nelson / Eldorado Canyon, or the dry lake bed.  Why not beef up your wedding day with awesome photos in multiple locations?  We create Elopement packages specifically for you. We love producing high quality and timeless wedding portraits to last a lifetime. Allow your family and friends to enjoy your wedding day through beautiful images.  Give us a call, send us an email or drop us message on facebook and we’ll create your Elopement package together.  702-518-3447

Exceptional photography is hard work

May 1, 2012 | By | 4 Comments

Exceptional photography can be hard work. Photography that looks different, looks better, is top of the field, requires more effort from everybody involved.
Take Brandy and Ryan. About a year ago I had the pleasure of working with these guys, who came out to Las Vegas all the way from Indianapolis. They were determined to make great wedding photography. They invested the extra money to rent time at the world famous Neon Boneyard. And then – to get extra awesome – we drove all the way out to Lake Mead, where they let me stick them into the ice cold water for a long time, with insects buzzing around, feet freezing, while I ran around them like a crazy man creating some gorgeous light paintings.

These guys were so happy to be with each other, to be married, to be in the moment. The world famous Neon Museum. They charge $200 for an hour of photography time. (Rumored to maybe increase soon).

If you’re willing to put up with an hour or so of discomfort, you’re probably going to end up with spectacular photos that really stand out from the crowd.

Raves make us blush :8}

When Jennifer Met Chris

April 24, 2012 | By | No Comments

They were destined to be together! Chris was transferred to Jennifer’s high school school his senior year for only 3 months. Instant attraction. Too bad Jennifer was dating his best friend at the time! They remained “just friends” for a long time even though they saw each other alot. Finally after “making eyes” at one another for 9 years, they started dating. The two of them have gone through a lot together and have built a strong foundation of trust, love, and admiration. Anyone that gets to know them, sees this right away. Jennifer and Chris, you are a great couple. It was a pleasure getting to know you.
Congratulations! You guys Rock!
Love the Red Converse!                                                                              Lucky Charm has deep meaning for them so this was the perfect pic.
Showing off her Figgie Shoes                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      I love Jennifer’s dress

A great way to end the photo session
