Las Vegas Wedding Photography

You realize that what is priceless tomorrow is expensive today. You’re doing it old skool – five hours or more. And you want full coverage from beginning to end. You want amazing family portraits, and breathtaking in-the-moment photojournalism that will make you laugh and cry every time you see them for the rest of your life. You want photography that becomes more valuable with every passing day.

Las Vegas Wedding Reception Party Photos – I LOVE the party! Brittany and Drew came to Las Vegas with lots of friends to get married and to have a great time. From the moment my assistant and I met them in front of the Aria where they got married, we boarded the party bus and the pace just kept getting faster. Welcome to Las Vegas Sign. Neon on The Strip. Reception at Mastro’s Ocean Club inside of Crystal City. These guys are high energy go go go. They’re probably still partying. What a blast to be there to witness and record all of the fun! Congratulations Brittany and Drew.

Las Vegas Playa Desert Dry Lake Bed Wedding – Juliet and Andrew

January 2, 2016 | By | No Comments

Yea, these guys Juliet and Andrew made the desert sizzle with their Las Vegas Playa Desert Dry Lake Bed Wedding, followed by their Las Vegas Neon shoot at the world famous Neon Museum. After talking over skype and some email back and forth between Australia and the US, these guys knew exactly what they wanted. We met them out at the desert playa dry lake bed on the way down to Nelson. They pulled up in their air conditioned limo – nice! We were already set up with our lights, ready to make beautiful studio-lit portraits. But before making gorgeous in the desert we went au natural during their wedding ceremony, officiated by the effervescent and highly recommended Angie Kelly of Peachy Keen Unions. And no, we did not shoot them naked, we just went simple natural light 🙂 during the ceremony.

Afterwards we spent just enough time to make some beautiful magazine-quality portraits of Juliet and Andrew in the stark and striking American desert.

We then made our way to the world famous Neon Museum, aka Neon Boneyard, where we walked the big lot amid some of the most famous neon signs from Las Vegas’ past. We pointed Juliet to the website where she could reserve the Neon Museum for either a 1/2 hour or one hour walking photo tour.

Did you know that you can also get married right in the Neon Museum among the towering classic neon signs? To arrange that, go right here.

We loved working with Juliet and Andrew, documenting their amazing Las Vegas Elopement. Once she saw her photos, Juliet emailed “we absolutely love them!! And please pass on our massive thank yous to Stephen for making us feel so comfortable and relaxed on the day!”

It’s what we do!

Las Vegas Wedding Photography – DTLV East Fremont

November 18, 2015 | By | No Comments

I am so in love with this session of Las Vegas Wedding Photography at DTLV East Fremont with Regina and Philipp.

They came all the way from Germany, with Regina’s sister and brother, to get married in beautiful, fun Las Vegas, Nevada. My team of two lighting assistants and I met these guys in the downtown Las Vegas East Fremont area, right in front of the giant fire-breathing insect in front of the Downtown Container Park.

Even though it was a little chilly for Las Vegas (mid 50’s F, about 13° C) Regina peeled off her blue-jean jacket and toughed it out for our two hour shoot in her beautiful graceful wedding gown. I think she looks a lot like Meryl Streep. And Philipp looked very modern in his skinny tie and skinny slacks. With his barely salt & pepper sideburns I think he looks a lot like George Clooney.

Yea, these guys are pretty gorgeous. And they are so FUN, too. We broke out the little bluetooth speaker and fired up some of their favorite music. George’s, I mean Philipp’s first pick was “A Little Less Conversation” by Elvis. YES! So VERY VEGAS! And Regina’s first pick was a Spotify station of The Get Up Kids. They got into their music, got loose and romantic, and the beautiful dreamy colorful moments just kept rolling on and on and on.

I was bummed to have to leave these guys. At one point I showed them a gorgeous photo, said “this looks like a photo from a magazine ad for deeply romantic perfume or for a million dollar diamond ring, and whatever, I just want to be there.” I didn’t want to leave.

I know they are smiling and having so much fun today and always. Congratulations to Regina and Philipp! All of your images will be finished very soon!!! 🙂

Downtown Las Vegas Wedding Photography – Elopement of Stacey and Greg

October 25, 2015 | By | No Comments

Historic Atomic Liquors (where folks watched atmospheric atom bomb test explosions from the roof of the bar back in the day), classic bright beautiful neon throughout the East Fremont Street area, public art graffiti all over the place that is updated throughout the year with each new music festival and cultural event, friendly welcoming people who LOVE a Vegas Bride, beautiful clients and best friends flying in from Canada and the Florida Panhandle, smiling, laughing, kissing, hugging, skipping. That’s what it’s like on a Las Vegas Wedding Photographers elopement tour of downtown Las Vegas with Steven Joseph Photography. We always have fun. You always look great. And everyone is blown away by your experience and the story we tell through the gorgeous magazine-quality photos documenting your incredibly special moment. I love everything about Las Vegas Elopement photography tours in DTLV downtown Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Wedding at Mandalay Bay and Foundation Room

October 12, 2015 | By | No Comments

These guys remind me of James Bond and his hottest secret agent honey. They got ready at Mandalay Bay, got married at St Francis Assisi, and their reception was at The Foundation Room. Somehow, the groom Jarrod got full walking around access on the grounds of Mandalay Bay for family formal portraits. Anyone who is familiar with how seriously the big hotels guard their exclusive in-house photography contracts realize how significant and surprising it is that Jarrod got full access for an outside photographer. Did I say he reminds me of James Bond?

These guys are gorj. They were overflowing with emotion, creating once-in-a-lifetime-moments a mile a minute. And we were extremely honored to be invited to document their day.

Las Vegas Smith Center Wedding of Devin and Lee

This wedding had it all, and the photos below are an excellent example of how wedding photography is so many kinds of photography all rolled into one: photojournalism, bridal portraits, family portraits, product, food, architectural, event, in every kind of lighting situation. The bride is stunningly gorgeous and dynamic, her groom is so handsome and suave. Two strong, loving, emotional families filled with camera friendly family and friends. One of the most iconic and elegant venues in Las Vegas – The Smith Center in downtown Las Vegas (DTLV), right next to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health Las Vegas, also known as the Frank Gehry building. Details galore in dress and decor. Really a perfect storm of awesome. Please enjoy these highlights from one of my all time favorite weddings. Thank you and giant congratulations to Devin, Lee and Devin’s mom Nita. You guys are fantastic.
